ARCIA Represented at Wimmera Careers Day by JVC-Kenwood.

In late June we were represented again at the Wimmera Careers Day by Troy Abel from JVC-Kenwood. This event, held at Longernong near Horsham in Western Victoria provides career information to around 1200 senior students from a very wide area of the State, and this is the second year we have attended.

Troy reported back that he again had quite a bit of interest shown in communications as a career and that one of the students who spoke to him last year came back to tell him she is going to enrol in communications engineering at university next year. There were several others who came back for a second time and these events are a way of not only highlighting communications as a career, but also to let young people know about radio communications in general.

During August we will also work with the Engineering Students Association from ANU in Canberra to support the local STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) competitions,

this will encompass both the ANU students as well as the Canberra Secondary schools and is another opportunity to extend the information base on communications.
