At this year’s WA State Networking Dinner, we were thrilled to announce Dane Coetzee as this year’s recipient of the WA State Professional of the Year Award.

Dane has made a significant impact in the radio and critical communications sector, demonstrating exceptional technical expertise, dedication, and innovation. As an emerging talent, Dane has shown remarkable skill development and a strong commitment to excellence in his workplace, quickly adapting to complex communication systems and operational challenges.

Dane has been instrumental in deploying modernised IP-based communication systems, replacing legacy serial-based architectures, and ensuring seamless integration of remote terminal units (RTUs) across operational sites. Dane’s work extends beyond technical execution—he is actively involved in training initiatives and knowledge-sharing programs, helping to upskill teams and improve best practices within the industry. His dedication to optimising critical communication reliability ensures safer and more efficient operations, directly benefiting mission-critical infrastructure in the region.

With a strong problem-solving mindset, adaptability, and forward-thinking approach, Dane exemplifies the future of critical communications professionals. His contributions enhance system resilience, improve training standards, and drive innovation, making him an outstanding nominee for this award.

Congratulations to Dane! Dane will automatically be entered into the running for the National Outstanding Professional of the Year Award, competing against other state winners. The national award will be announced at the ARCIA Gala Dinner in Melbourne on October 15, held in conjunction with Comms Connect.
