The 2026 edition of the Spurious Challenge Regatta on Sydney Harbour went off with a bang.

Spurious Challenge Regatta ARCIA 2026Hosting an almost record number of entrants, and with a new charity partner, ‘The Black Dog Institute’, the day was made even more worthwhile, with 100% of the generated funds going to charity.

Gathering in the morning for a catch-up with old friends and new, after the important safety briefing, the large number of entrants were keen to get going, ready for this year’s race, against industry colleagues, as the clock struck midday.

With some reasonable winds and some cloud cover to take the heat off, the regatta got off to a flying start as the flotilla headed out of Middle Harbour Yacht Club on Friday, 20 February. It was a competitive race from start to finish, and with two in contention crossing the line, there could be only one to take line honours, and that was the team from ARCIA, their first division win and overall win (Div1 and Div2) ever.

Thanks to RFI Technology Solutions for organising the day, its 36th outing and as the ARCIA team said on the day, ‘Bring on 2027!”
