ARCIA’s Lunchtime Learning series’ success continues!
The second session of the ARCIA Lunchtime Learning series—An introduction to the two-way radio industry (Part 1)—had 60+ early registrations!
Title: An introduction to the two-way radio industry (Part 1)
Presenter: Andrew Wyborn
Session 2 recap
On Wednesday 27th October, Andrew Wyborn presented part one of ‘An introduction to the two-way radio industry’. There were 60+ early registrations, and we saw almost that number logged in on the day for the presentation. Some very complimentary responses were shared through the quick survey that followed the session.
Andrew gave an excellent outline of the basics of our industry, the things that we all take for granted, yet can be so confusing for people who are new to our industry, or who haven’t gained a good understanding through their own individual roles. There were several nice comments about Andrew’s presentation style (including his dry humour), and hopefully the attendees will all be feeling a little more at home in our industry now that they understand some of our jargon. Part two of this session will be presented on Wednesday 24th November.
Free ARCIA Dictionary
During this presentation, Andrew also outlined another ARCIA innovation—the ‘ARCIA Dictionary’—that will be of great assistance to people new to our industry. In this document is a glossary of the jargon and terms that we use every day. The dictionary is in the final stages of preparation now and will be available shortly. Keep an eye on our website and newsletters for details, it will be available free to our members.
Thank you to our promotional partners
Hamish finished up by thanking the ARCIA promotional partners, whose funds help to make training possible, and then responded to some questions raised by the attendees before Andrew Wyborn (as moderator) closed the session, and thanked Hamish for the presentation.
