Strong turnout, new faces, and growing momentum in Brisbane
A large crowd gathered on Thursday, 16 April, at The Rose & Crown on Grey Street, South Brisbane, for the first Queensland sundowner of the year, which was great to see, but not unexpected, with almost 50 registered in the lead up to the evening. A new venue for us, Alex and the team looked after us very well, keeping the food coming and the drinks flowing. The period charm of the old pub added to the night, with most gathered out on the balcony overlooking Grey Street, just by the train station.
It was great to see a few new attendees looking to find out more about ARCIA, what membership had to offer, and to meet some other members. Some of these confirmed they would sign up, given what they had seen on the night.
So, if you’re thinking about attending the next sundowner in your state, and aren’t yet a member, head along, chat to the team and find out more about joining our growing association.
We’ll be back in Brisbane in July for our one-day Radio and Critical Communications conference and QLD State Networking dinner, where the winner of the QLD State Professional of the Year Award will be announced. Nominations are now open but close on 3rd July.
We hope to see everyone again on 2 December for the next Brisbane Sundowner, so make a note on your calendar, and we’ll see you there.
