Even in these quiet times there are still things happening that involve our industry. In this case, an update on the proposed review of the Radiocommunications Act.
Back in 2014, the Government decided to overhaul the Act and address some of the sections that were over twenty years old. After many meetings (and ARCIA was represented at most of them) the final decision from the present Government is that it will be simpler to update the Act and address the issues that have come up during the passage of time. In accord with that approach the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications (DITRDC) issued a consultation paper on the proposed changes and invited comment from stakeholders.
