Perth Sundowner Breaks Records with a Full House and New Faces!
A slow start to the evening had the team a little worried to begin with, despite a lot of registrations, but they needn’t have worried, as the larger space allocated for our sundowner soon filled to bursting, with around 60 venturing out on a cold night, to deliver record numbers – Great work Perth!
What was nice to see was some younger faces, with new faces curious about membership and some students from Curtin Uni joining us to find out more, having been invited by one of our WA committee representatives on his recent visit to the university (Well done Ryan). As we know, the sector, like many others, finds it difficult to attract younger generations in to the ranks of radio and critical communications, so it was great to see them joining us, chatting to members about the industry and opportunities that exist within its various fields of application.
The next Perth Sundowner will be on 19 November, and if last week was anything to go by, we might have to close registrations if we reach venue capacity, so get in early.
If you’re thinking about attending the next sundowner in your state, and aren’t yet a member, head along, chat to the team and find out more about joining our growing association.
