A Great Night for ARCIA’s First Victoria State Dinner!
5 August saw ARCIA’s first state dinner, or at least since the early days, when the association wasn’t called ARCIA, and what a great night it was, demonstrating that the support highlighted in our survey earlier in the year, really was there.
Almost 80 gathered on the top floor of The Langham, and with city views and Col Cameron to look after the night, we were well positioned and very well looked after by the venue and their team. Col Cameron ran things a little differently than some of our previous state dinners, with a quiz and some light-hearted activities that seemed to keep everyone entertained and networking as well as at any event ARCIA has run in the past. Congratulations to RFI, who took out the quiz! Thanks Col!
One of the key reasons for the launch of the Victoria State Dinner, aside from giving our members and their guests an opportunity to get together, was to give our State Professional of the Year Award the platform it deserves, in line with other states. Our winner, one of the youngest we’ve had for many years, and certainly one of the most highly thought of given the nominations received, was Josh Way, from Tait Communications, who was there to accept his trophy and say a few words, with his usual good humour.

Josh will automatically be entered into the running for the National Outstanding Professional of the Year Award, competing against other state winners. The national award will be announced at the ARCIA Gala Dinner in Melbourne on October 14, held in conjunction with Comms Connect.
