The 2022 Industry Gala Dinner — “One of the best dinners to date!”
The 2022 Industry Gala Dinner took place on 19 October, after a three-year hiatus, with over 400 guests enjoying the entertainment, great food, and the regular industry awards presentation. The MC and guest speaker for the night was Julian Morrow of The Chaser fame, who handled proceedings with aplomb, even when the technology let him down at one point. With his trademark humour intact, the night flew by as he shared anecdotes and footage of some of their more daring escapades from over the years.
The Industry Excellence Awards are always highly anticipated, with this year’s winners as follows:
- Professional Sales Award: Rex Buckley – Simoco QLD
- Technical Excellence Award: Tim Frost – Mastercom
- Customer Service Award: Johanna Hill – Radlink QLD
- Engineering Elegance Award: Ali Sadaghiani – Tait Communications
- New Talent Award: Arslan Nizami – Radspec Consultants
- Peter Wallace Industry Professional of the Year (2021): Glen McCarrick
- Peter Wallace Industry Professional of the Year (2022): Gavin Jenkins
- Jonathan Livingstone Award: John La Cava
Both Hamish Duff as President and Paul Davis our new Chief Executive Officer spoke, highlighting the resilience of our industry, our ability to be self-sufficient and help others, and the exciting opportunities for our future, given new technologies and their application.
Consistent feedback both on the night and subsequently, suggests that this was one of the best dinners to date, with the bar now set very high for next year.
